The Wisdom of Flowers

It’s May. Everything is in bloom.

Winter is over. We are waking up, coming out of our shells. We are ready to be more again – to dream wild and play big. We are ready to dare, to step out of our shadows, to leave our comfort zones. Even if it’s just a little bit. Even if it’s just for a little while, every now and then. Even if it’s just to have a tiny moment of fun. We are ready to have fun, to play, and to flourish.

Flowering is a rather accurate metaphor for soul growth – it reminds us of the importance of acceptance in the process. Criticism doesn’t heal or move us forward. It only makes us troubled and weary. It makes us question and doubt everything.

Acceptance reminds us that not all stages of growth feel rewarding or look beautiful, but they are part of the journey  part of our road to love. Roses never reject their withered stems or fallen leaves; they hold them with grace until they turn to dust. I admire that in flowers. If I could take just one thing from their wisdom, it would be their eternal love for themselves.

Roses remind me that beauty starts from within  it’s our radiance, our light. That radiance is born from the stories we tell yourselves. What you focus on is what you become. This is why not all beautiful faces shine the same, and why we each see beauty in different things.

It’s not always easy to have a loving inner narrative, especially when we don’t feel heard, seen, or understood in the way we long to be. The flower world understands that.
“It’s okay if you don't” they seem to say. It is not all they say.

Yet whatever you feel, darling, remember to do the following:
Allow it.
Embrace it.
Feel it.
And remember: π’―π’½π’Ύπ“ˆ π“‰π‘œπ‘œ π“ˆπ’½π’Άπ“π“ π“…π’Άπ“ˆπ“ˆ.

Then, one day, you’ll really overcome it all  you'll bloom in your most vibrant colors and look back with gratitude. And then roses will whisper, “This too shall pass,” encouraging you to fully embrace the joy and celebration that life offers. They invite you to live it fully. Breathe it in fully. And, when it’s time, also let it go fully.

Things don’t have just one value. We all prioritize differently. Things are what you make them  –  what you allow them to be.

In order to encourage yourself to bloom more, ask yourself:

It’s spring. The world is in bloom.
Now is the time to bring that blossoming energy into your own life. What would inspire you to flower more wildly than ever before?

Follow that thread. Listen to the answers that come from your core. And if silence is all you hear, start simply   buy or pluck yourself flowers and let them inspire you.

As an extra encouragement, I’m adding to this post a little workbook called 22 Steps Towards Flowering. It’s something I created to inspire myself. I hope it now has the chance to inspire you too!
